Light Painting is as old as photography. Participants use colourful lights to ‘paint’ shapes in space and the trails of the lights are captured on camera in long exposure photographs. Amazing images and short animated sequences can be created easily and the results are instantly viewable on screen.
Light painting is a very flexible technique and can be adapted to short drop-in sessions or much longer, more developed projects over a number of days.
We also use light stencils and the amazing Pixelstick (check out http://www.thepixelstick.com) for more complex work.
The sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities and no specialist knowledge is required. A dimly lit/ dark space is needed for the workshop. For longer projects much of the design work can take place in normal, fully lit rooms.
The sessions are not suitable for anyone with photosensitive medical conditions.
